Amanda Rowan began shooting backstage at rock concerts starting at the age of 12. She grew up in northern California, daughter of renowned Bluegrass and folk legend Peter Rowan and fashion stylist Leslie Rowan. Amanda was surrounded at an early age by creative energy and it brought forth her own unique expression with her camera.
“I want each shot I take to capture a story.
I approach a photo shoot as if I were directing a film.
The subject is the star and together we tell a story.
When I document I wait for just the right moment.
I look for that interesting emotion, when the subject is alive
And that’s the shot.
The special moment that someone may not even be aware of, so beautiful
That’s why I am there.
To capture the moment.
I live to document life and the amazing people in it.
I feel so lucky.”
